Students' Union media
UWE Students' Union media includes the student newspaper, Western Eye, Westworld magazine and the Hub Radio station.
The different forms of written and broadcast media provide a wide range of opportunities for UWE students to get involved. The skills and experience gained from working in these genuine media environments can be hugely advantageous in the employment market after graduation.
Western Eye Newspaper
Western Eye is the monthly student newspaper that is essential reading if you want to know what’s happening at UWE and within the Students’ Union. As well as UWE related articles, there is also a wide range of news, views, reviews and comments written by UWE students.
Westworld magazine
Westworld is published as the Western Eye style supplement magazine. Written and edited by students, the magazine provides the UWE community with a student perspective on music, fashion and the arts.
Hub Radio
The student radio station is an essential part of the UWE experience. Its fantastically equipped studio at the hub of Frenchay Campus, and another at Bower Ashton, broadcast musical genres as diverse as the UWE student community itself.
As well as many music shows, Hub Radio broadcasts politics, interviews and SU activities. It provides another amazing opportunity for personal development and learning new skills.
