Black History Month

Black History Month is a remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African Diaspora, celebrated annually in October. The month aims to: promote knowledge of the Black History and experience; disseminate information on positive Black contributions to British Society; and heighten the confidence and awareness of Black people and their cultural heritage. UWE and UWESU are proud to join the celebration of Black History Month.

Black History Month events happening both at UWE and locally across Bristol will be added here. Please come back regularly to see an updated list of activities and events.

For all the events happening across Bristol see the 2011 Events Programme from Bristol City Council (pdf).
