Support for postgraduate students
Library resources
Our 24 hour library on Frenchay Campus offers a wealth of resources including printed books and journals, whilst our other campus libraries offer specialist books for the departments on those sites. All of our libraries are open to any UWE students, and access is also available for our electronic resources, including journals and e-books.
Blackboard e-learning tool
You can access study notes, extra resources posted by your lecturers and online discussions with fellow students all through our web-based e-learning system Blackboard. This means you can keep up to date with information on your course, as well as study remotely, all in your own time.
Academic support
Each course has a nominated academic Course Leader who is responsible for all students enrolled on that course. They will be able to support you with any academic issues you come across, as well as being a port of call for advice on other University matters.
The Postgraduate society
The Postgraduate society provides an organised social aspect to the postgraduate experience. The society actively promotes and supports a social network for postgraduate students and to show them what Bristol and the surrounding area has to offer. Find out more about the Postgraduate Society.
Childcare
Halley Nursery was opened in 2007 to care for a maximum of 62 children from three months to five years old. Located on the main Frenchay campus and run by the UWE Students’ Union, it is open to students, staff and the local community.
Accommodation
UWE offers a variety of accommodation for postgraduate students ranging from self-catering flats on Frenchay Campus to off-campus accommodation in small developments of flats and University managed houses. Find out more about accommodation options.
Transport
UWE can be easily reached by rail, road or local public transport. Ulink is an affordable bus service operated by UWE and Wessex Connect with regular routes to and from university campuses. We also encourage students to walk or cycle to University by providing showers, and secure lock up areas for bikes. Find out more about campuses and travel.
