Support and security
Happy students - inside and out
Our students are supported throughout their time at UWE. Both the University and the Students’ Union have trained staff available to offer a helping hand; from the Advice Centre for little worries, to the Wellbeing and Counselling services for those facing bigger hurdles.
Access for all
Our Disability Service can help with the individual needs of disabled and dyslexic students. These range from advice on funding and support, to making arrangements for assessments, and helping with access requirements in accommodation and on campus.
Safe and sound
All university-managed accommodation is looked after by a team of people to help our students settle in and feel secure. Accommodation managers monitor all maintenance and repairs, trained student wardens offer practical advice and monitor the welfare of residents, while university security are on call 24 hours a day.
City safety award
In November 2010, Bristol won the prestigious Purple Flag award, rewarding the city for a becoming safer, cleaner and a more pleasant place to be in the evenings.
