Inspire #2 - Micheline Munro
Adult Nursing student Micheline Munro tells us about her experience of studying at UWE Bristol and what led her to change career direction in her late 50s and train as a nurse. We follow her journey from leaving school at 16 and enjoying a varied office-based career and busy family life, before life events helped to change her focus and she decided to retrain and work in a more caring profession. She talks about how she has found going back to study after a number of years, the route she has taken and how she has manged to fit study around her other commitments.
Micheline’s story is particularly inspiring for anyone who has always wanted to go into Nursing but has worried about retraining. Her advice is “Just do it!”.

Inspire #3 - David Hopgood
Children's Nursing student David Hopgood shares with us his background prior to studying at UWE Bristol. We discover how an unfortunate series of events led to him not taking up an offer to continue his studies at university in the late 90s. Subsequently joining the family business for the next 20 years, until involvment in a unexpected incident finally made David realise that the care sector was where he belonged. A particularly inspiring and entirely relatable story for anyone who is considering applying to come to university after a period in employment.
