Deposit - Advanced rent payment
Offers will be sent from April onwards. To accept your offer of accommodation you will be asked to pay a deposit of £250 to secure your room. Your deposit is an advanced rent payment. Your final instalment will be reduced by the deposit paid. Any damages or charges will be invoiced. It is important to budget for this, as payment will be required before student loans or grants have been paid into your account.
Your deposit is fully refunded if for any reason you do not come to the University, you must advise Accommodation Services by telephone or email no later than the end of August before your contract starts.
There are two options of paying for your accommodation:
- Eight instalments taken on the first day of each month beginning 1 October. The last payment will be on 1 May.
- Three instalments taken on 1 November, 1 February and 1 May.
For City Centre accommodation a guarantor will be required. If you are unable to fulfill this requirement you will be asked to pay in full before you arrive. Alternatively, you can use UK Guarantor, which is a service for international students. They act as your UK based guarantor if you are coming to study in the UK. This means that you can pay your rent in instalments rather than in advance. There is a charge for using this service and it is not a company related to UWE Bristol.
Please note that UNITE Students may charge and additional £88 administration fee for students who chose 8 monthly instalments.
