Academic regulations and procedures

Academic regulations are there to assure our academic standards and ensure all our students are treated consistently and equitably. Students enrolled on a programme at UWE Bristol agree to abide by our academic regulations and procedures.

Please note: Regulations are subject to annual review, so it is important that students and staff refer to the current version on this web page. The University will communicate changes as appropriate.

If the details of the regulations should change, the University will determine the extent to which the changes apply, and students will be advised by direct communication to their UWE Bristol live email addresses and via myUWE. Prospective students will be contacted directly via their welcome website.

Variations to regulations and procedures

Our academic regulations and procedures are occasionally varied due to partner or external body requirements. The following variants are approved by our Academic Board:

Professional body variants

Some professional body requirements require a variance to the regulations and procedures which must be approved by Academic Board. For example, a professional body may require a different method of calculation for a honours classification or differential level of award.
