Supporting and evaluating sustainable mobility strategies

Research theme within the Centre for Transport and Society (CTS).

Transport interventions are typically complex, involving a range of stakeholders and interests, affecting diverse groups of citizens, and often involving significant investment.

It is essential that interventions, particularly innovative trials, are properly evaluated with a view to maximising the diffusion of the most effective sustainable mobility policies. Decision-makers also need information about system performance and citizen's attitudes. Through this theme Centre for Transport and Society (CTS) has built a strong reputation in effective evaluation, from scheme conception through to monitoring of impacts post-completion.
