Bristol School of Animation
Bristol School of Animation (BSA) is part of UWE Bristol's School of Film and Journalism and has an international reputation for high quality teaching and training in all aspects of creative animation production.
Investing in the future of animation
The School was re-launched by Oscar-winning animation director, Richard Williams, to coincide with the investment of over £250,000 on industry standard equipment and the move to a new location; UWE Bristol’s Bower Ashton Studios.
Investment in professional animation facilities and links to some of the UK’s major animation practitioners provides unique opportunities for our students to gain valuable industry experience.
Nurturing student talent
Bristol is one of the UK’s main centres for animation production and UWE Bristol is a major provider of animation talent to the industry. Each year we welcome students from across the world to take advantage of the unique opportunities offered by the School.
Successful graduates find work as independent film makers/producers, freelance practitioners or with leading animation studios in the UK and worldwide. A great example of this is MA Animation student Cho-Han's work on the world record breaking Aardman and Nokia Gulp! project. They produced a film on the largest ever stop-motion animation set.
Our Film and Journalism press releases evidence our students' world recognised work, with students winning competitions and awards at an array of industry events.
Our animation courses
Our creative animation courses offer a broad range of skills and attributes designed to enable you to operate independently within the commercial environment after graduation.
