Callum Stewart - alumnus profile
When Callum Stewart travelled the short journey up the A37 from his hometown of Midsomer Norton to UWE Bristol every day for three years, he had no idea he would still be helping the University more than five years later, and from the other side of the world.
As a student, Callum was a prominent football
player representing UWE Bristol Men’s first team, and South England
Universities – and got his chance, through the University, to
travel to the United States to coach football. Callum has now
embarked on a new role with Indiana University as the Associate
Director of Development, specialising in philanthropy.
“UWE was instrumental in building the person I am today.’”
Callum currently sits on the panel for the UWE Bristol Fund, which decides how to spend donations to the University, along with other alumni, donors and staff. The panel reviews applications for funding to support academic projects, extra-curricular activities and facilities which help our students to shine.
“The UWE Bristol Fund Panel enables volunteers to proactively collaborate across the world to deliver efficient, proactive, and tangible outcomes to help assist UWE Bristol students with experiential learning opportunities and career success,” says Callum. “Every alumnus should give back to help their alma mater.’
