Travelling by bus, cycle and rail
All of UWE’s campuses are served by our own award-winning Wessex Red bus service and have excellent off-road cycle links.
Wessex Red buses
Services 11-19 are operated on behalf of UWE and offer an economical and quality bus network for students, staff and the public in Bristol.
Other bus services
First provide the majority of other bus services in Bristol and offer discounts for students. In South Gloucestershire, most services are provided by Wessex Connect.

Long distance coach
Megabus provides a very cost effective service direct to Frenchay Campus from many UK cities and some overseas destinations including London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Exeter, Manchester and Leeds. Coaches depart from the north entrance on campus.
Rail
Frenchay campus is a 20 minute walk, or a five minute bus or cycle ride from Bristol Parkway and Filton Abbey Wood main line stations.
Cycling to campus
There's no need to worry about busy roads when cycling in Bristol - our campuses all have excellent off-road paths that are often much quicker than the surrounding roads. The links below will take you to further information including cycling maps for each campus.
Accompanied cycle rides take place regularly to help you find the quietest, flattest and best cycle routes to Frenchay from Gloucester Road.
There is ample cycle parking on each campus. At Frenchay, showers are available in M, R and S blocks. Secure parking is available adjacent to M block and lockers are available in S block - contact the Facilities Helpdesk to apply.

Taylored Cycles offer cycle maintenance at reasonable prices every Tuesday in term time from car park 15.
Staff on Bristol Business Park have use of a pool bike.
