Payroll giving

What is payroll giving?

Payroll giving is an easy and tax-effective way to make a regular donation to charity. It is offered by thousands of employers, including UWE Bristol, throughout the UK. It is the most tax-effective way of making charitable donations.

With payroll giving, your monthly donation is taken from your pay before tax is deducted. This means that the University receives your donation and the tax you would have paid on that amount straight away, enabling your gift to go further at no extra cost to you.

Anyone paid through Pay As You Earn (PAYE) can use payroll giving to donate to us. However, your employer must have a payroll giving scheme in place in order for you to make a donation in this way. Your employer may refer to the scheme by using a payroll-giving agency brand name such as 'Give As You Earn'.

Many employers will also match their employees’ charitable donations made by payroll giving, which means you could make double the difference to us.
