Performance Sport - Women's Football
UWE Football Women (WFB) is one of the fastest growing sports at the UWE Bristol. The club has two teams competing in BUCS with the 1st Team in Western 1A and 2nd Team in Western 3A. The club has evolved over the last two seasons accommodating for all levels of players but increasingly becoming competitive at the elite end of the club.
UWE WFB has established a partnership with Bristol Academy Womens Football Club which creates opportunities for players to study at UWE Bristol and play at a high standard in the Womens FA Super League. The UWE FBW is coached by William Kirk who is the manager of the BAWFC along with a player coach who delivers to the second squad.
At Frenchay Campus the halls of residence and Centre for Sport allow young student-athletes the opportunity to live an elite athletic lifestyle while combining their studies. Training and first team matches take place at BAWFC linking with SGS College which provide all weather pitches and an indoor training venue.
Training and Competition
The club train once a week at SGS and play their matches on Wednesdays. The club have the opportunity to gain strength and conditioning from our fully qualified team of professionals additionally to these sessions.
