About the race equality charter mark
The race equality charter mark aims to improve the representation, progression and success of black and minority ethnic staff and students within higher education, and is a learning opportunity for UWE Bristol. It is a chance to identify how we can further improve the experience of all students and staff, and particularly the experiences of minority ethnic students and staff.
UWE Bristol is committed to creating an inclusive culture and environment where individuals are able to thrive, irrespective of their race or ethnicity. UWE Bristol is a global University, and we want all students and staff to feel comfortable in a global environment. We recognise and celebrate the differences in the diverse student and staff bodies at UWE Bristol.
To continue to improve the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic students and staff, we are planning to submit an application to the first round of the Race Equality Charter which is organised by the Equality Challenge Unit.
Student and staff surveys
We would like to hear from black and minority ethnic students and staff so we can better understand your experiences at UWE Bristol: what works well and what challenges you may face.
All black and minority ethnic students and staff are warmly invited to complete a survey.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Individuals from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic groups, for example Arab
- Individuals from White minority ethnic groups, for example White Polish, Irish Traveller
- Individuals from mixed ethnic backgrounds
- International staff and students who may face differences in experience based on their ethnic background and/or national origin
