Silas - Robotics

Studied: BSc(Hons) Robotics. Similar course: BEng(Hons) Robotics

Silas Adekunle is the Founder and CEO of Reach Robotics, an organisation that's creating the future of gaming.

Reach Robotics was supported in its early days by the Bristol Robotics Laboratory incubator programme and Future Space – a workspace for innovators at UWE Bristol.

"My degree was a great introduction into the world of robotics and the possibilities that lay ahead of me. UWE Bristol nurtured my entrepreneurial curiosity."

Inspiring the next generation

Even before graduating, Silas had two placements and some teaching experience under his belt. Passionate about inspiring others, he had also begun to develop an educational programme aimed at igniting young people’s interest in STEM subjects through robotics.

With funding from The Prince’s Trust and a partnership between UWE Bristol and HP, his educational programme ran for four years. From these beginnings Reach Robotics was born. The company is now developing Mekamon, the world's first robotic gaming system for the consumer market. Mekamon fuses robotics, reality-bending technology and immersive play.

£5.8 million investment

With £5.8 million of backing from world-class investors, Reach Robotics is going from strength to strength. Using this injection, they plan to promote and distribute Mekamon. It will also enable them to grow their team and build on the partnerships they’re developing around the globe.
