Baishu - Architecture
Baishu took advantage of his university’s partnership with UWE Bristol to study three years of his Architecture degree here. And he’s glad he did.
"Coming to study in the UK has been a great experience. As well as being able to continue my Architecture degree here, I’ve also become fluent in English, which is a valuable skill. And living and studying abroad really challenges you in a positive way. It’s helped me to develop personally and become more globally minded through the new international friends I’ve made.
"The support available here has been amazing. I took extra English classes when I first arrived and it helped so much that I was fluent by the end of the first term. My course tutors have been helpful too and they’re always happy to explain anything you don’t understand.
"I also signed up for PAL support. This is an academic support scheme where students offer study support sessions to others, so this was useful for me to supplement my classes."
"Coming to study at UWE Bristol has definitely been one of the best things I’ve ever done. It’s given me new opportunities and opened doors. When I graduate, I hope to work for a year in China or the UK and then study for a Masters in the UK."
