"I expressed my visions, goals, challenges and my expectations to which the strength and conditioning team then crafted a program unique to my sport and workload within my course.

"The one-to-one availability and willingness to help saw me working with highly qualified individuals daily, receiving plausible feedback and technique advice.

Beyond beneficial support

"As well as the strength and conditioning programme, I was also grateful to receive both nutritional and psychological support. Despite never considering these elements impactful, in hindsight, the workshops regarding how to deal with pressure moments with a game and cooking workshops on the preferred meal types to eat in order to replenish my body before a heavy week or high intense training period was beyond beneficial and what I ever expected.

"When I first came to university, I was solely competing in Regional 1. At present, I am playing for a National Premier 1 team and have captained both U'19 and U'21 at Severn Stars and am now training within a Super League franchise.

"I would undoubtedly advise any individual to come to UWE Bristol. Not only for the incredible sport support system but also as Bristol is a vibrant and incredible diverse city."
