Digital Christmas Card Competition
Congratulations to UWE Bristol animation student Laura Miranda, who has won the 2018 Digital Christmas Card Competition and the £250 first prize. Her design will be made into an e-card.
Laura explained the inspiration for her design:
"The inspiration for my idea came from what I enjoy the most about winter: people ice-skating and the dark blue colour of the sky – which is something I wanted to represent in my entry.
"Experiencing the winter months living in Bristol, the first thing that came to mind was the Suspension Bridge and Balloon Festival, which I wanted to showcase as the main iconic images in my design. Around that, I used a number of other buildings that represent what Bristol means to me."
Congratulations are also due to the four other shortlisted entrants for their excellent designs. They will each receive £50 each. Thank you to all of the other entrants for making this year's competition such a success.
Following the selection of a shortlist of five designs, the winner was chosen by UWE Bristol staff, students and the general public voting on the UWE Bristol Facebook page and the staff intranet.
We were delighted with the response as almost 2,000 votes were cast across the two platforms. Laura's winning design scooped over half of the votes (968). Thank you to everybody who voted for getting involved.
