Apply for a UWE Bristol exchange

Exchange applications can only be accepted from students of established Erasmus+ or study abroad exchange partner institutions in relevant subject areas.
Applying for exchange at your home institution and the nomination process
Before applying to UWE Bristol, you will need to apply for exchange at your home institution, be successfully selected and nominated to UWE Bristol.
Once UWE Bristol has received your formal nomination, you will be contacted by email and invited to submit your applications through our online system. Students applying for creative subjects will first need to submit a portfolio and have this accepted before they will be invited to apply – see below for more information.
Creative subjects – portfolio requirement
Students nominated to the School of Art and Design or School of Film and Journalism will be asked to email an electronic portfolio, CV and motivation letter to email@example.com in order to ensure placement on the appropriate course.
Once your portfolio has been assessed, you will be contacted by email and invited to submit two applications though our online system which will add you to our student record system and exchange student database.

Nominated students will need to complete two applications through our online system. These will add you to our student record system and exchange student database.
- 31 March for Semester 1 and full-year study commencing in September
- 31 October for Semester 2 commencing in January
English Language requirements
To make the most of your time at UWE Bristol, you will be
expected to have sufficient proficiency in English to be able to
follow classes and submit all assessments in English.
We expect our partner universities to take English language proficiency into consideration when selecting students for exchange. Proof of English language may be required for entry to the course or for visa purposes.
After you have applied
After you have applied, you will receive a confirmation email
from the Study Abroad Team.
We will then communicate with you through the Welcome Website – you will receive a login ID and password by email. All information about joining the University, airport pickups, registration and the International Student Orientation will be provided through the Welcome Website.
Information about welcome events in your department and module options will be sent to you by email.
