What is the Heading Higher Passport Plus scheme?

We want students from all walks of life to study at UWE Bristol. So we created Heading Higher Passport Plus (HHP Plus) to remove any barriers for those who might not normally consider university.

This may be due to a disability, financial difficulties or health reasons. Or it could simply be a lack of confidence that they can succeed in higher education.

“The whole HHP Plus package made the transition from school to college to university easy.”

Inspiring and supporting learners

All learners who meet our eligibility criteria and register through an approved HHP Plus partner can:

  • access exclusive UWE Bristol networks and events so they can learn more about studying here.
  • earn an additional 16 UCAS points against a UWE Bristol honours degree, or 8 UCAS points for a foundation degree or foundation year.
  • build their confidence and understanding of higher education, so they can develop a strong personal statement when applying to study here.

Working with schools and colleges

Through delivering the scheme with approved HHP Plus partners, we help schools and colleges to

  • inspire and improve progression for students from widening participation backgrounds
  • improve progression in learning and destinations for Level 3 students
  • enhance the student experience through exclusive university outreach events.

Please note: HHP Plus applicants are not guaranteed a place on a UWE Bristol course. Minimum entry requirements and selection procedures still apply. We recommend applicants always check UWE Bristol subject webpages for the most up to date information.
