Entry requirements - Kuwait
The experienced UWE Bristol International team will be happy to give you advice on the suitability of your qualifications for your chosen programme of study.
Qualifications listed under each heading may satisfy UWE Bristol entry requirements to that level of study. This is not a guarantee of an offer of a place, which is at the University’s discretion.
All students must also have a recognised English language qualification.
Entry onto foundation programmes
If you have achieved the Shahadat-al-thanawia-al-a’ama (General Secondary School Certificate), also known as the Thanawiya with 70 per cent you will be eligible to apply for entry onto a foundation degree or an undergraduate degree with foundation year entry.
Entry onto undergraduate programmes
Technical Diploma/Certificate from PAEET Institution GPA 3 out of 5 or above are eligible to apply for year one.
Students can be considered for direct entry to year two or three with a diploma or Bachelors degree on a case-by-case basis.
If you have studied the American High School curriculum, we would be able to consider you for a UWE Bristol undergraduate programme if you have achieved:
- A minimum of 600 in writing, critical reading and mathematical elements of the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) Reasoning Test and a minimum of 600 in relevant SAT Subject Tests or;
- A score of 26 or more in the ACT (American College Testing) or;
- At least two, but preferably three subjects in the Advanced Placement Tests (APs) with grade 3.

Entry onto postgraduate programmes
Holders of a Bachelors degree with GPA of 2.75 out of 4 or more will be considered for postgraduate study.
Lower score may be considered where students have suitable work experience.
Holders of a Masters degree will be eligible to apply for PhD
Please note: Where UWE Bristol has an academic agreement in place with an institution, greater flexibility in entry requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate courses may apply as outlined in those agreements.
