How to apply

Undergraduate students

First check your eligibility, including English Language requirements. Then choose to apply in one of three ways:

  1. Register and apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).
  2. Apply through one of our agents or representatives in your country.
  3. Meet a representative at one of our regional offices.

Declare a disability

Your application will be considered based on your academic suitability and passion for your course – disability doesn’t play any part in the decision-making process.

However, it is important to let us know if you have a disability on your application form so that our dedicated Disability Service can work together with you to explore your needs and put the right support in place for you.

International applications to UWE Bristol

Please note: if you have received a visa refusal for any country within the last two years, you will be invited to attend an online credibility interview before we can proceed with your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). If you fail to declare this information on the application form, or at point of offer, we reserve the right to withdraw your offer. If you have already paid your deposit this may impact on your right to a refund.

Applicants with a visa refusal older than two years may also be invited depending on the reason for the refusal.

1 August Application deadline

Application deadlines for the September intake course closure.

Due to high demand some courses may close earlier, this information will be available on the relevant course page.

9 August Deposit payment received deadline

Please ensure you pay your deposit or, if you are a sponsored student, you have uploaded a copy of your sponsor letter or notified us of your sponsorship, by Friday 9 August. We may not be able to accept payments received after this date. See further details on payment.

All payments should be made through flywire, we are unable to accept payments directly to the UWE Bristol bank account. Any payments received to our bank account will be returned which may have an impact on being able to join the course.

Please note: some of our courses have strict capacity. Due to this, we may have to close deposits prior to published deadlines. To ensure you don’t pay the deposit after this time, we will notify you of the situation and withdraw your place of study.

14 August Latest date for Bank Statement upload

For students travelling from non-low risk countries classified by UKVI, you will need to provide a bank statement as part of your visa application.

To make sure you meet the visa requirements, we will need to check this before we issue your CAS. You will need to have uploaded the bank statement through your welcome portal ready for our admissions team to check no later than Wednesday 14 August.

We recommend that you make sure you have the required funds in the bank no later than the Wednesday 17 July so that they meet the requirements set by the UKVI.

16 August Latest date for CAS

This is the latest date for CAS to be issued. After this date we will only be able to issue in exceptional circumstances due to visa turnaround times.

You must apply for your visa as soon as you receive your CAS to ensure you receive your visa on time for the arrival dates shown below.

You will need to have met all the conditions of your offer, paid your deposit (deposit amount will be on your offer letter) and provided any documents by this date to receive your CAS.

Please note that if you don't require a student visa or are able to apply for your visa from the UK, we may be able to accommodate later dates if the course start date and capacity allows it.

You will receive your MYUWE login once your CAS has been issued. You must complete online registration before can you begin on Starting Block.

Please note: If you are not able to arrive ready for face-to-face lectures by the start date we will not be able to extend this, you will either need to defer your place or withdraw and request a refund.

There are courses that sit outside of these term dates, individual start dates will be available shortly.

Accepting an offer

First of all, congratulations - we're looking forward to meeting you. How you accept depends on how you applied:

  • If you applied through UWE Bristol, accept your offer by logging on to your UWE Bristol Welcome Website and selecting the 'My Offer Response' option in the 'My Application' tab.
  • If you applied through UCAS, accept your offer by logging onto UCAS Hub and selecting 'Reply to your offers'.

Deferring your place

Undergraduate study

If you would like to defer, please email the International Admissions Team at international@uwe.ac.uk and briefly explain your reasons. Please include your UWE Bristol Welcome ID number, and write ‘deferral request’ in the subject line. We’ll try our best to accommodate your request for a deferral, however, it’s not possible for all courses and you may be asked to reapply the following year.

Postgraduate study

We do not permit deferrals for the majority of our courses unless there is an extenuating circumstance, in which case these requests will be considered on a case by case basis. If you would like us to consider a request please email the International Admissions Team at international@uwe.ac.uk and briefly explain your reasons. Please include your UWE Bristol Welcome ID number, and write ‘deferral request’ in the subject line.
