Students arriving at UWE Bristol

Registration for new students

As a new student starting at UWE Bristol, you must attend a registration event to confirm your attendance in person and to collect your student ID card.

Check your course joining instructions

Please read your course joining instructions as they’ll have vital information about your course induction. They'll be emailed to you and published in your UWE Welcome website by early August.

Attend the registration event

Unless specified in your course joining instructions (please see exceptions below), you'll need to attend a registration session. Please attend on either Friday 14 or Saturday 15 September 2018 between 10:00 and 16:00 at the Exhibition and Conference Centre. View a map of Frenchay Campus.

It’s a drop-in event, so you don't need to attend the whole day.

The below courses will have registration already included in the course induction, so you won’t need to attend the registration event:

City Campus postgraduate courses – registration is included in the induction, so please check your joining instructions for details.

Gloucester Campus courses – registration is included in the induction on Monday 17 September 2018, so please check your joining instructions for more information.

Hartpury College courses – further details about registration will be available on the University Centre Hartpury website from August.

If you miss the registration event

We’ll have a Welcome Hub at the library (level two) on Frenchay Campus from Monday 17 September to Friday 12 October 2018. The opening hours are:

  • Monday 17 September to Friday 5 October 2018: 09:30–16:00
  • Monday 8 to Friday 12 October 2018: 11:00–14:00.

International students

Home Office regulations require all international students (those requiring a visa to study in the UK) to attend a passport and visa scanning session in person.

In-person registration for international students

Collect your student ID card

You’ll be able to collect your UWE Bristol student ID card at your registration session provided you’ve submitted your photograph online via myUWE (see our photo ID guidance).

Please ensure you bring some photo ID (eg original passport, photographic driving license, national UK/EU identity card, citizen card) with you to your registration session.

If you already have a UWE Bristol student ID card, for example if you've previously attended a course at the University, you don’t have to collect a new card.
