Accommodation services for all students
Under the Equality Act 2010 it would be unlawful for a landlord or Accommodation Services to discriminate against students on a basis of age, disability, ethnicity, faith/belief, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or on the grounds of their civil partnership status, in advertising the accommodation or by the terms under which the accommodation is let.
A resident landlord, however, is able to choose who they want to live in their home (eg they may prefer a female if they are a female living on their own) but Accommodation Services can not specify these preferences when advertising accommodation.
