A selection of frequently asked questions for students considering accommodation at the University.
Can I apply for University accommodation if UWE Bristol is not my first choice?
If you accept us as your insurance choice, you will not be able to apply for accommodation until after the exam results have been released, and you have confirmed that you will be coming to UWE Bristol.
The number of spaces available in our accommodation at this time will be limited but we will do our best to help applicants find suitable accommodation.
Can I live with a friend?
Can I have visitors?
Will there be empty University spaces when it comes to clearing?
What will happen to my accommodation if I defer entry to UWE Bristol?
If you decide to defer, you will need to advise Admissions or International Recruitment, and Accommodation Services of your decision. We will re-allocate your accommodation to another student. You will need to reapply the following year for accommodation.
Admissions will send you a new accommodation email next year. If you have not heard from them by the end of March, please call Admissions on +44 (0)117 32 83333.
What if I am on holiday, can’t accept my offer of accommodation or make my payment within five days of the offer?
It is essential that you keep in touch with us and check your email regularly. Please note that only you can accept an offer of accommodation. You can do this via some mobile devices or at any internet cafe. We are not able to email the offer to an email address other than the one you provided when you registered with UCAS. We will need confirmation from you within five days of the offer.
If you contact us prior to a holiday, then we may be able to delay sending the offer out until you get back. Generally, if the Licence is not accepted within the ten days, the accommodation offered to you will be allocated to someone else.
Please remember, we only make you one offer of accommodation and this is sent to the email address registered with UCAS.
Is there parking available?
Frenchay Campus
If you have been allocated University accommodation, you are prohibited from parking on campus at anytime and you are not eligible to apply for a parking permit unless you are a blue badge holder.
You are prohibited from parking your car on campus or in the surrounding area. Exceptions may be made in cases where the student has a disability as defined under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. Such exceptions are completely at the University's discretion.
Satellite campuses
The Hollies and Glenside accommodation has very limited parking available on application of a car parking permit. Please note, you are not eligible to park on Frenchay Campus.
City centre
City centre accommodation does not have car parking. The only car parking available will be in the private car parks, such as NCP, which will be very expensive.
