The following workshops were organised by the UK/China Partnership with involvement from academic institutions, industry, end-users, policy makers and government agencies.
'Route to the Market' workshop

The Institute of Quality Standards and Testing Technology for Agro-Products (IQSTAP) in Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) hosted an international conference on recent advance of food analysis in Beijing.
The conference included a China/UK workshop as a part of BBSRC-funded UK/China Partnership Award for Novel Food Technologies, which is co-organised by CAAS and the Centre for Research in Biosciences and Institute of Bio-Sensing Technology at UWE Bristol.
The conference and the workshop brought together scientists, industry, policy makers and other stakeholders in order to address complex issues of food industry challenges.
Particular emphasis was on the development and taking to the market of novel, cost-effective and rapid technologies for agri-food products.
'Innovative Technologies for the Food Industry' workshop
Date: 21 - 22 July 2011
This 2-day workshop brought together the UK and Chinese academia, industry, policymakers and other stakeholders in order to combine effort in addressing important issues of development, evaluation and taking to international market novel and rapid technologies for the food industry.
Particular emphasis was placed on cost-effective technologies for the detection of environmental pollutants in animal feed and animal-derived food.
