Who is championing your research data assets?
"The management of research data is recognised as one of the most pressing challenges facing the higher education and research sectors"
JISC Managing Research Data Programme 2011-13
Building the services and infrastructure to support researchers in managing their digital data and to enable future preservation presents many challenges to institutions. A variety of approaches are being employed in the sector; this event provides a forum for discussion between institutions that are in the early phases of development.
UWE is embracing this challenge as part of the JISC Managing Research Data Programme (2011-13). A key element of the UWE project is to share our experience and deliverables with the wider JISC and HE communities. In addition we have invited other institutions to share their experiences. JISC and the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) are also presenting.
The focus of the event will be
- the differing approaches to research data management development chosen by institutions
- integrating research data management within the culture and structure of an institution
- approaches to institutional and stakeholder engagements
- how these methods might be used, or adapted, by similar institutions
This event is free of charge to all attendees. Situated close to rail and motorway links, the University of the West of England is accessible from all parts of the UK. For queries please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or ring 0117 32 82404.
Places for the event are limited.
