Project summary

The RAPID 2000 Project provided a strategic approach to enhance the skill development and progression of future Professionals throughout the Construction Industry by adapting the RAPID Progress File developed as part of the ‘Recording Achievement in Construction’ project.

The RAPID Progress File enabled students to audit and develop skills in line with the professional competence requirements of leading Professional Institutions within the Industry. This project saw the extension of the Web-based RAPID Progress File to accredited degree programmes in Civil and Building Engineering.

Project outcome

This project had the support and assistance of both the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), both of whom were represented on the project’s Steering Committee.

Furthermore, the project team worked closely with the Training Organisation for Professionals in Construction (TOPIC) to ensure that the benefits derived from the project have the maximum impact within the Industry as a whole.
