SAM Anxiety Management Mobile Application

SAM AppSAM is a mobile application that is being developed to enable personalised anxiety monitoring and management.

The project is a collaboration between CSCT and the Psychology Department in Health and Life Sciences, who are working with MyOxygen, a Bristol-based application developer. It is being supported by UWE as a future resource for both students and the general public.

The app will allow the user to:

  • monitor their anxiety levels and visualise their anxiety profile over time
  • discover and apply self-help techniques including multimedia and mini-games
  • share anonymous advice and ratings with the user community (the "social cloud").

The development is being informed by clinical evidence and a user-centred design process. Android and iOS applications will be available via app stores in the summer -  prior to that the team is conducting evaluations of beta versions with staff and students.

If you are interested in contributing to the evaluations or are interested in any other aspects of the project, please contact the team.
