Day trips and visits to UK destinations
As part of the Summer School you will have the opportunity to visit some of Britain's most well-known towns and cities.
The options available will include:
Take in iconic sights like the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Harrods, Trafalgar Square and Oxford Street – as well as famous museums and art galleries. You will have free time for dinner and exploration, then we will meet at 19:00 for a twilight flight on the London Eye (included in the package).
Visit this beautiful university city and have a guided walking tour of many of its famous buildings and colleges. You will enjoy a lunch break in Oxford’s Botanic garden and the afternoon will be yours to explore the city at your leisure. Alternatively, you can spend the afternoon on an optional trip to the nearby high-end fashion shopping outlet at Bicester Village.
Gloucester and Bath
The day starts with a visit to the historic Gloucester Cathedral. We will go on a short tour of this magnificent building, finishing with the cloisters – where parts of the second and third Harry Potter films were filmed!
The tour will continue with a visit to the beautiful city of Bath. We will see The Royal Crescent and The Circus, two of the city’s most famous landmarks, before going on a walking tour to take in the rest of this stunning World Heritage city. You will have free time for eating and shopping at the end of the tour, as well as an opportunity to visit Bath Abbey.
On this guided tour of Bristol’s city centre you can learn the history of this unique place and get tips for making the most of your time here. There will be free time after the tour to explore, and the opportunity to have dinner at a famous Bristol restaurant. We will return home after the evening meal to see the city's most famous landmark, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, lit up at night. If you are attending the August Summer School you will also have the opportunity to visit the famous International Balloon Fiesta.
