HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE)

Students have the opportunity to study at HKU SPACE in Hong Kong and graduate with a UWE Bristol awarded BA(Hons) Media and Cultural Production.

Hong Kong University, School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE) has nearly 1,000 full-time staff members and over 2,000 part-time teachers. It is the leading local provider in continuing education providing learning opportunities for personal, professional and career advancement for people from all walks of life.

HKU SPACE is also privileged to collaborate with 62 institutions drawn from Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas (principally the UK, the USA and Australia). Location

The School has established 12 HKU SPACE learning centres in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a special administrative region (SAR) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). With a land mass of 1,104 km2 (426 sq mi) and a population of seven million people, Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated areas in the world. Formerly a British colony, Hong Kong is a modern cosmopolitan with strong Chinese traditions, often described as a city where 'East meets West.'

Courses

BA(Hons) Media and Cultural Production 

Graduates from this course are well-equipped to be team players and self-motivated employees in professions such as:

  • media production
  • photo-journalism
  • publishing
  • the heritage sector (museums, galleries, etc)
  • design
  • events management.

Graduates are trained with multiple skills to perform specialist media production, to communicate clearly through writing, visual productions and to present ideas and information in oral presentations.

Please note: the final Year 2 cohort of BA(Hons) Media and Cultural Production will be registered in 2022/23. The final Year 3 cohort will therefore be registered in 2023/24.

The first Year 2 cohort registered on the new programme, BA(Hons) Media Production (Creative Content), will occur in 2023/24.
