Bristol Centre for Linguistics
The Bristol Centre for Linguistics (BCL) brings together researchers who are committed to understanding how language is organised socially, culturally and mentally. We are interested in how the languages spoken in Bristol contribute to its vibrancy and what their use tells us about society more widely.
The Centre aims to promote the visibility of linguistics and the relevance of language research to the wider public, and to form partnerships for the exchange of expertise with other universities and organisations outside academia.
