Working in partnership with UWE Bristol

Welcome to the partnership pages of our website where you will find all the necessary information and documentation for schools, colleges, trainees and tutors.

Why partner with UWE Bristol?

Partnership with UWE Bristol offers schools, colleges and early years settings the opportunity to play a major part in training the next generation of teachers and to gain support for existing teachers in professional development. Additionally, working with trainees, in partnership with the University, can have a positive impact on pupils’ learning. We highly value our long-standing partnerships with some 400 secondary, further education, primary and early year settings across the South West and beyond, and welcome applications from new partnership schools and colleges.

Our aim is to prepare, in partnership with schools, newly qualified teachers who reflect on and learn from their own teaching and from the effective practice of others; who are knowledgeable, adaptable, creative and independent; and who are sensitive and effective in their communication with others. UWE Bristol trainees are trained and educated to teach all core and foundation subjects and are sensitised to the various needs of learners in schools/settings.

The Department of Education and Childhood has an excellent track record of secondary and primary Initial Teacher education. Find out more about the benefits of working with UWE Bristol and our recent achievements
