'Financial crime and its perpetrators'
Terry Greenhow, a former Detective Sergeant in the Avon and Somerset Economic Crime Team delivered the second Financial Crime Research Network seminar on Thursday 23 February 2017. In the seminar ‘Financial crime and its perpetrators’ Terry discussed the relationship between the 2007 Financial Crisis and financial crime.
Terry discussed some of the fraud cases he has been involved in, fraud committed against and individuals and concentrated on technical crimes committed against financial institutions.
'Trading in a compliant manner – black and white or grey’
Dr Ian Robinson contributed towards the Financial Crime Research Network’s seminar series on Thursday 26 January. His lecture provided our students with a fascinating overview of working in financial services sector in London.
He discussed a wide range of issues including the current perception of city traders and their relationship with compliance officers. The final discussion was about the several instances of financial crime that have arisen in the financial sector following the 2007 financial crisis.
