Discounts on The Students' Union at UWE sports and societies

UWE Bristol alumni are welcome to join The Students' Union at UWE sports clubs. You can join by paying twice the sports fee that students pay, excluding sub-aqua. The sports fee provides you with access to as many sports clubs as you wish and is comprehensive insurance. Please see the sports information from The Students’ Union at UWE.

In order to join a society there will also be an additional fee, which varies depending on the society you wish to join. Please refer to individual societies for more information.

Kooth online counselling

Free online wellbeing support from Kooth Student is available to graduates for one year after graduating.

Register online by entering your UWE Bristol email address. The service is anonymous and confidential.

Library membership

UWE Bristol alumni are entitled to borrow up to five books at a time and to make two reservations free of charge. Alumni are able to join as members for free. Please note that, due to the University's licensing agreements, you are unable to borrow audio-visual materials and short-loan items.

To take advantage of the Library borrowing entitlement, simply complete the online application to join the Library.

Guest access to databases

Former students and staff are also able to have guest user access to some of UWE Bristol's e-resources. Guest access to databases is available from all UWE Bristol campus libraries. Please note that access to the computers may be limited in busy times and is only permitted during staffed opening hours. You can get more information on guest access from the Library.

We recommend that you check what databases are available for guest access before you visit the Library, as not all database providers permit use of their databases by members of the public.

Your alumni status allows you free lifetime access to your references for as long as UWE Bristol has a subscription to RefWorks. For details on how to access the alumni area of RefWorks please use the 'ask a librarian' link on the Library website.

RefWorks (staff)

If you are retiring from UWE Bristol you will get free lifetime access to your references for as long as UWE Bristol has a subscription to RefWorks.

If you are leaving UWE Bristol to work for another employer, you will lose access to your RefWorks account. However, you can create a backup copy of your references before you leave which you can then upload to any subsequent reference management software that you use.
