Student Hardship Grant
Hardship Grants awarded by the UWE Bristol Fund provide a lifeline for students in financial need and can be the difference between a student being forced to leave university to find work and completing their studies.
We aim to support as many students in financial need as possible, but it’s only thanks to donations from alumni, staff and friends of the University that we can.
Whether it’s a single parent that has just been made redundant, a care leaver that has no family to fall back upon for support or a disabled student whose benefits have been cut, the UWE Bristol Fund helps to ensure that no student has to sacrifice their studies and give up their hopes for the future.
"Without the Hardship Grant, I would not be able to complete the final year of my studies without extreme stress or worry.”
Student Experience Grant
Thanks to the support of alumni, staff and friends of the University we have also been able to award over £15,000 in Student Experience Grants during the last academic year, helping to offer the best possible experience to our students during their time with us.
Some grants have supported the purchase of equipment to enable clubs and societies to compete locally and internationally. Others have helped student groups to come together to run events that help broaden the overall student experience and develop crucial skills that help students to excel once they leave UWE Bristol.
"It has made our goal to one day take a tap team to competitions across the country a whole lot closer. Thank you from all of UWE Dance!"
"It helped us get an amazing and inspiring local poet who helped us explore our hijabs in ways we had never thought possible."
