Tai chi and Qi Gong

Tai chi and Qi Gong helps you to find balance in body and mind. It is gentle physical exercise that calms the mind and a great way to take a break from your studies.

It stretches and opens the body, improves posture, and gives the body’s energy system a boost. It can help to combat sedentary lifestyles and promotes overall physical and mental well-being. It is also great for reducing anxiety and stress. 

Exercises include a range of standing, sitting and lying down tai chi exercises designed to work on different areas of the body, improve overall posture, activate the body's energy system, and calm the mind. We will finish each week with breathing and meditation exercises. 

Remember to dress comfortably and wear flat (soft-soled) shoes or socks.

These sessions are suitable for beginners and intermediates.

These sessions are drop-in, but places are limited. Once you've bought your MOVE membership, register for a session via the app or online.

MOVE costs just £40 for the whole year (£25 for semester 2 membership, available in January) and gives you options to take part in a wide range of sports and activities. If you aren't a MOVE member you can still take part in activities by paying a set fee per drop-in session.
