Our popular Hotshots Holiday Camps are Ofsted registered and will keep your children entertained during the school holidays. We offer quality childcare at affordable prices.

  • Hotshots Active: Keep your 8 to 13-year-old active throughout the school holidays.
  • Hotshots Adventure: Let your 12 to 15-year-old join the adventure.

Please note: Hotshots Adventure will not be running in 2024.

Hotshots Active

During the school holidays, we will lead your children in energetic, motivating and fun sessions at UWE Bristol’s Centre for Sport. Designed for 8 to 13-year-olds, our multi-activity holiday camp combines sport and play into an active programme.

With fantastic facilities and fully qualified staff, your child will stay active, meet new friends and learn new skills within a safe and trusted environment.

Hotshots Active activities

Catering for children of all abilities, Hotshots Active focuses on sporty activities often including:

  • badminton, basketball, climbing
  • cricket, football, frisbee, futsal
  • short tennis, table tennis, tag rugby
  • trampolining, rounders
  • archery and volleyball.

Dates and costs

Bookings for Hotshots will be available from end of February.

Easter 2024

  • Wednesday 3rd April – 12th April

May 2024

Summer 2024

  • Monday 29th July - 2ndAugust

The costs are: £25 per child per day.

Child safety

The welfare of your child in our care always takes priority. Children are supervised at all times, including break and lunch times. All Centre for Sport staff and Hotshots leaders are DBS checked and fully qualified in relevant activities.

We carry out regular risk assessments to ensure that the activities your child participates in are safe. Our policies and procedures are regularly updated to ensure we meet all necessary requirements.

The Centre for Sport has fully qualified first aid personnel available at all times.

Insurance

UWE Bristol Centre for Sport has full public liability and employer’s insurance. Please email us at uwebristolsport@uwe.ac.uk for further details if you require them.

Ofsted registration

The camps are Ofsted registered (EY423243) and our certificate is displayed in the Centre for Sport viewing gallery.

What to bring

Please ensure your child is suitably prepared for all weather conditions and activities, ie trainers, tracksuit, sun-cream, hats, rain coat etc. A spare change of clothes is required.

You must supply your child with a packed lunch and drinks bottle every day. Please ensure that they have enough food and drink to sustain them throughout the day.

Registration and location

Registration

Children can be dropped off between 08:30-09:15 and collected between 17:00-17:30. If you require a pick up time earlier than 17:00, please let us know at the beginning of the day.

Parents must register their child each morning that they attend the camp in the Centre for Sport viewing gallery. You will need to supply a password on the application form; this will be used to confirm that you are the correct person to collect your child.

Hotshots holiday camps take place at Centre for Sport, UWE Bristol, Frenchay Campus, Coldharbour Ln, Stoke Gifford, Bristol BS16 1QY.
