Bristol - where the opportunities are

With booming industries across many sectors, and the University’s strong links with many of the organisations based here, UWE Bristol students are in a strong position to tap into the many opportunities on offer in the city.

Engineering, the creative industries and healthcare are just some of the sectors with a strong presence in Bristol and the wider region, with a large number of leading organisations, including the BBC, Airbus and Lloyds Bank, choosing to base large operations here.

“Bristol tops the chart of Britain’s best places for graduates to live and work.”

Sunday Times, September 2015

As one of the city’s main universities, we work closely with local and regional organisations in a diverse range of ways – helping to identify skills gaps and emerging opportunities, and designing our courses to match. And helping our students to get involved in a vast number of opportunities – from interesting projects and partnerships, to high-quality internships and placements. Learn more about our connections with employers.

We are regarded by many organisations as the ‘go to’ university for collaboration and recruitment, and many employers like the fact our graduates are well equipped, motivated and able to make a solid contribution from the start.

Bristol’s economy is also one of the most resilient in the UK, and the city has one of the lowest unemployment rates, all of which makes getting a good job here after studying with us all the more likely.

Over half of UWE Bristol students stick around

“People like it so much here, they tend to stay. Over 50% of students go on to live and work in Bristol after graduation.”
