Career support throughout your degree

From the moment our students start, they get careers and enterprise information and advice – from employers, our careers and enterprise team, and their tutors. By the time they graduate they will be equipped with the experience, contacts and skills to succeed in their chosen careers.

Placements and work experience

Work experience is vital in today's crowded jobs market. While our students are here, we provide support to help them find experience that fits their career plans through tailored workshops and advice.

Most of our students do placements and almost a third (32%) are offered graduate jobs by their employer. Graduates who have undertaken significant work experience such as a placement are more likely to achieve a good degree result and obtain a professional and managerial role.

Strong business skills

Many of our graduates go on to become self-employed. We give them a head start while they're here. Enterprise skills are built into the curriculum and students bring business ideas to life through competitions and networking.

Specialist careers support

Students have the opportunity to attend daily careers drop-ins and workshops or schedule a one-to-one coaching appointment with our dedicated Careers team. Students have access to online resources including the UWE Bristol InfoHub vacancy search engine and Careers toolkit supporting students to find jobs and providing help with the recruitment processes. Meet the Employers Fair, Employer-led workshops and industry insight and networking events occur throughout the academic calendar giving students the opportunity to engage with employers directly.

It doesn't end when our students graduate. Alumni can access our careers services for a further three years after graduating.
