Accredited by industry
Many of our Business and Management courses are accredited by professional bodies including Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). So graduates leave with industry-recognised qualifications and study exemptions in many cases.
Placements and work experience
Work experience is vital in today's crowded jobs market. And while our students are here, we provide support to help them find experience that fits their career plans through tailored workshops and advice.
Most of our students do placements and almost a third (32%) are offered graduate jobs by their employer. Graduates who have undertaken significant work experience such as a placement are more likely to achieve a good degree result and obtain a professional and managerial role.
Strong business skills
Many of our graduates go on to become self-employed. So they get a head start while they're here. Enterprise skills are built into the curriculum, and students bring business ideas to life through competitions and networking.
Specialist careers support
Students have the opportunity to attend daily careers drop-ins and workshops or schedule a one-to-one coaching appointment with our dedicated Careers team. Students have access to online resources including the UWE InfoHub vacancy search engine and Careers toolkit supporting students to find jobs and providing help with the recruitment processes. Meet the Employers Fair, Employer-led workshops and industry insight and networking events occur throughout the academic calendar giving students the opportunity to engage with employers directly.
And it doesn't end when our students graduate. Alumni can access our careers services for a further 3 years after graduating.
Graduates of Business and Management courses choose to study a variety of postgraduate subjects ranging from management accounting, marketing, human resource management, international management and public policy. Others study alongside work in graduate jobs requiring further professional development. Graduates with accredited degrees can take advantage of exemptions.
