Allied Health Professions graduate destinations
Graduate career opportunities
Our Allied Health Professions degrees are vocational degrees that lead to professional qualifications. Many courses lead to registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). So we expect all our graduates to find work in their chosen profession.
From the moment our students start, they get careers information and advice - from employers, our careers team, and their tutors. So by the time they graduate, they will be equipped with the experience, contacts and skills to succeed in their chosen careers.
Top graduate employers
The South West has an established health and social care sector and many graduates find jobs in the region or farther afield. Our qualifications are recognised in many countries, so some graduates go overseas. Employers include private hospitals, clinics and a diverse range of providers. There are also opportunities with regional employers including:
- 2Gether NHS Trust
- Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust
- North Bristol NHS Trust
- Nuffield Health
- Royal United Hospital Bath
- Sirona Care and Health
- Somerset Community Partnership
- University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.
Employers shape our courses, provide careers advice, and provide placements and work experience opportunities. We also regularly invite employers in to talk about what it is like working for them and promote opportunities. This is the perfect occasion for students to talk with employers about careers, the sector and graduate opportunities.
Experience is vital in the health and social care sector. So work placements are integral to all of our courses. Our students will get experience on placements in different health and social care environments. Alongside, they will develop skills and confidence in simulated conditions.
Specialist careers support
Sector-specific careers advice is available for each department and one-to-ones are available with our dedicated healthcare team. The team also arrange weekly careers panels, seminars and workshops where students can learn more about the profession.
And it doesn't end when our students graduate. Alumni can access our careers services up until three years after graduation.
