Students at a UWE Bristol careers fair

Careers support

Our careers services are available to support all UWE Bristol students  – while they are here and after graduation. And they can access our online resources before they arrive.

Every faculty has a dedicated careers team working in our central careers service. Through understanding their faculty’s sectors and professions, senior careers consultants can work to enhance its students’ employability skills.

Careers staff work with faculty to provide lectures, workshops, seminars and training that will help make graduates ready and able for their careers. And UWE Bristol works with employers and partners to make sure the curriculum is informed by the latest labour market trends.

Career services for students

Our extensive online resources help students realise their potential through a host of opportunities for work and further study. As well as accessing advice online, students can:

  • Search online for work placements, internships and jobs.
  • Book onto workshops, employer presentations or careers fairs.
  • Access ‘Careers Toolkit’ – a wealth of resources to help them plan their careers, build CVs, apply for jobs, placements and internships, and prepare for interviews.
  • Learn how to bring business ideas to life.
  • Research employers and graduate careers.
  • Find international study and further study opportunities.

One-to-one careers support

Students can access sector-specific advice and support through individual appointments with qualified careers professionals. Tailored careers workshops also provide vital professional skills such as promoting yourself on social media, preparing for interviews, and presentation skills.

Enterprise skills

We provide a range of services for students who want to start up their own businesses. They can get one-to-one advice on business ideas in our Enterprise Zone. They can develop entrepreneurial skills at UWE Enterprise workshops and events. And they can take advantage of business incubation space and ongoing advice once they’ve got their business up and running.
