About UWE Bristol Singers

UWE Bristol Singers is a thriving choir of students, staff, alumni and community members. Under the leadership of internationally renowned conductor Ben England and accompanist Alison Howell, the choir sings a rich programme of classical and contemporary music, with workshops, masterclasses and performances throughout the year.

Highlights:

  • Transforming Futures - our commission especially composed for the UWE Bristol Orchestra and Singers will be recorded at the impressive Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in May 2024.
  • Carmina Burana workshop day with masterclasses from our guest soloists from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, all set in the grandeur of St. Georges Bristol.
  • Performances at Centre for Music's annual Festival of Sound.
  • Masterclasses from visiting professional singers.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays,19:30 to 21:15 in Room 2B025, B Block on Frenchay Campus.

Membership and registration

UWE Bristol Singers is open to anyone aged 16+ and is one of the best value, professionally led classical choirs in the South West. UWE Bristol students and staff simply need to register with Centre for Music to attend.

Alumni and community should complete the registration form on the UWE Online Store and pay the £75 annual registration cost.

Why not come and meet us? To join us for a rehearsal, please email the Centre for Music at cfm@uwe.ac.uk. No audition is required.

How to join

To join any of our Centre for Music groups, you firstly need to become a member. Membership is free for students. Once you are a member you can sign up for any of our groups and activities.
