Singers University Chorus performing at the Colston Hall

UWE Singers

This is a big choral society for everyone. You don't need to audition to join. New singers, whether experienced or complete beginners, are always very welcome to come and experience the thrill of singing with 100 other people.

Choir works include: Poulenc’s Gloria, Mozart’s Requiem, Elgar’s The Music Makers, Karl Jenkins’s Requiem, Hadyn’s Nelson Mass, Delius’s Sea Drift, John Rutter's Requiem, David Fanshawe’s African Sanctus and Walton's Belshazzar's Feast.

Throughout the year Singers do several performances across Bristol including a headline slot at CFM’s annual Festival of Sound at the Colston Hall.

The following clips were recorded during a performance at Bristol Cathedral.

The choir is conducted by Elinor Cooper and accompanied by Alison Howell.

Open to the community

The Centre for Music also opens its doors to staff, alumni and community members. Local singers can audition for UWE Singers, our large classical choir.

Next generation 16+

The Centre for Music is also looking for the next generation of musical talent to join UWE Singers. We offer support to young musicians looking to further their studies, engage with high-quality music making, and enjoy the experience of a university environment. The ensembles are run by professional musicians; the opportunity to work with industry professionals is fantastic.

How to join

To join UWE Singers, you will firstly need to register. UWE Singers charge a subscription to join and it will cost £30 per term. Pay your subscriptions on the Online Store.
