Working through the following topics and videos to help you with a smooth start to computing at UWE Bristol:
1. Your username and password
Your UWE Bristol username and password will be emailed to your personal email address. If you have not received these emails contact an Information Point.

2. Logging onto a student computer
Find a student PC lab and log in. There are many PCs located across all campuses.
Lab locations can be found via Student computer locations (includes video guidance 0:59).
Book a PC via Book a computer.
3. myUWE and Blackboard
myUWE (Student Portal)
myUWE is your online portal to services such as Blackboard, e-library and UWE Email. Check your personal details are correct in the myDetails tab, and read any announcements.

Blackboard
Blackboard is a Virtual Learning Environment, where you will find course information and timetables. Staff may upload lecture notes and course material to this resource and, on occasion, online assessment may be done via Blackboard.

4. UWE Email and Office 365
Office 365 contains the core software you will be using at UWE. It includes UWE Email and 1TB of personal storage called OneDrive. This is all accessible through the myUWE student portal. More information can be found via Office 365 for UWE Students (includes video 1:22) and UWE Email.
Software specific to your course is provided locally by your faculty.

5. Eduroam and Wi-fi (connect your devices to the wireless network)
You can use your username and password to connect to the wireless network at UWE. This network is called Eduroam.

6. UWEmobile
UWEmobile is a native application for iPhone and Android. It keeps you connected to University of the West of England and gives you access to the most useful information you need on the move.
7. Printing and your Pharos print account
UWE offers a chargeable student print system called Pharos. All students are automatically given a Pharos account.
Once you have credit on your account you can print from UWE computers. To add money to your print account, please go to UWE Card Account.
Pharos Printer Stations are in all libraries, learning zones and some open access areas and PC labs.
