Dawn - Radiotherapy and Oncology

On the right path

The first time I saw a radiotherapy unit was on work experience in a hospital — that’s when I knew it was definitely the route I wanted to go down.

Team work is so important in radiotherapy, and that really appealed to me. And I love having patient continuity — radiographers see their patients almost every day and you have the chance to build up a strong relationship.

With a great team

There’s such a great group of students in radiotherapy — we're quite close-knit and there’s plenty of team work and interaction between students. My class is made up of people of all ages: from people just leaving school to students in their forties and fifties. I've made some really good friends here.

And exceptional support

The lecturers are very approachable and always happy to answer any questions. And I've got a great tutor who is really supportive.

"I am so happy as it's so great to be doing something I enjoy."
