Graduation day – Gloucester Cathedral

Awards Ceremonies at Gloucester Cathedral are for UWE Bristol, Gloucester Campus and University Centre Hartpury students only.

Registration

Graduands will need to register their presence on arrival at the desks inside the south door of the Cathedral. We recommend arriving approximately two hours before the ceremony begins. Registrations for University Centre Hartpury will begin at 09:30 in the morning and 12:45 in the afternoon. UWE Bristol, Gloucester Campus registrations will begin at 13:00.

Guest seating

Guest seats are numbered and correspond with tickets. Guests can begin to take their seats in the main nave of the Cathedral from 10:00 and 12:30. View instructions for collecting your pre-purchased guest tickets.

Access requirements

Wheelchair access is available at Gloucester Cathedral and appropriate seating will be arranged. Stewards will be pleased to show you to your seats when you arrive at the Cathedral.

Photography

Ede and Ravenscroft professional photographers (Tel: +44 (0)1733 563565) will be available in the Cathedral after you have registered and robed. You may book your photography prior to the event or pay on the day.

Video

A professional DVD will be made of the ceremony by Visions Unlimited. DVDs can be ordered in advance through their website and will be available for collection/purchase within 15 minutes after the event. University Centre Hartpury graduation ceremonies DVDs can also be ordered through Visions Unlimited's page for University Centre Hartpury.

Refreshments

The Coffee Shop in Gloucester Cathedral serves light refreshments from 10:00 until 17:00. There are also many restaurants in the Gloucester Cathedral area.

Timetable

Depending on the time of your ceremony a typical graduation day will be as follows:

Hartpury College times UWE Bristol, Gloucester Campus times Description
09:30/12:45 13:00 Arrive at the Cathedral and register.
09:30/12:45 13:00 Collect academic robes from within the Cathedral.
09:30/12:45 13:00 Photography studio opens for professional photographs.
(The studios are very busy throughout the day – arrive early if you require photographs to be taken.)
10:00–17:00 10:00–17:00 The coffee shop in the Cathedral serves light refreshments.
10:30/13:45 14:00 If you will also be collecting a prize as well as having your award conferred, you should go to the stage areas where a steward will brief you about the prize presentation section of the ceremony.
11:15/14:30 14:45 Graduands and guests should be seated.
11:30/14:45 15:00 Ceremonies begin.
12:30/15:45 16:00 Ceremonies end and wine, soft drinks and canapés are served in the cloister area of the Cathedral.
13:00/16:15 16:30 Graduates return their robes.
