Finding time to study

Student reading

At UWE most courses are available with one study option which you can find in the individual course descriptions. However, the form these take can vary. Here is a guide to what these options mean for you.

Day release

These courses are offered one day a week or fortnight alongside your job. This means you can directly apply what you have learnt to the workplace, a benefit for both you and your employer.

One-off courses

Many of our courses are offered as one-offs, lasting between one and five days. They deliver a compact learning experience giving you the space and time to focus on learning away from the workplace.

Evening courses

These courses are delivered over a number of weeks and give you the opportunity for you to learn without taking time away from work.

Summer courses

These courses range from one week to several over the summer months and so you get the experience of learning full-time.

Blended learning

These courses blend taught classes and workshops with online learning, giving you face to face tuition alongside flexible study.

Distance learning

Some of our courses take place entirely online. These have as much support as those taught face-to-face, and you have the added benefit of being completely flexible with when and how you study.
