In order to ensure that your site is resilient and accessible to users at all times, it is essential that it is hosted on an appropriate, fully managed and supported, server.

As part of the Website Programme, a new web infrastructure was been created to provide a reliable, centrally-managed, web hosting service offering resilient, professionally supported servers to faculties and services requiring their own web space.

By default all websites in the CMS are hosted in the new web infrastructure.  Where it is agreed that the site/ application does not fall within the scope of a CMS-based site, an individual hosted web server can be requested at a cost to the faculty or service.

The level of support for such servers is dependent on the nature of the website/application and the tools and technologies used, with websites/ applications built on Windows 2008, IIS7 and using .Net based technologies, achieving the highest levels of support.
