Open Day talk in lecture theatre

What happens at an Open Day

No other event brings our campuses to life quite like an Open Day. Here is a taste of what to expect.

Subject-specific sessions

No matter which campus you are visiting, you will want to find out more about the course you are interested in studying. That’s why we provide you with a variety of subject-specific talks, taster sessions, tours of departmental facilities and drop-in sessions with academics from your course. We will equip you with all the information you will need to make the right decision for you.

Central talks and drop-in sessions

There will be a number of central talks and drop-in sessions that you can attend (depending on which campus/site you visit). The main areas that we have covered to support you as a student are:

You will have the opportunity to tour our campuses with our student ambassadors and visit our accommodation (and Centre for Sport on Frenchay Campus). If you are attending an Open Day at our Frenchay Campus you can also enjoy a free one-hour bus tour of the city centre to see what Bristol has to offer.

Gloucester Campus

Unfortunately, there is no accommodation open for you to visit during this Open Day. However, students are able to apply for accommodation located at Gloucester Royal Hospital, which is a 15-minute walk away. The city-centre amenities are situated on your doorstep at the historic Gloucester Quays, so you can explore the area at your leisure. Find out more about our Gloucester Campus.

Ask the Experts

The Ask the Experts team is made up of representatives from Accommodation, Admissions, Careers, Centre for Performing Arts, Disability, International Student Advice, the Library, Students' Union and JobShop. Come and speak to them for one-to-one help and advice. This service varies depending on the campus.

For all of these events, please check your Open Day programme for timings. This will be available one week before the Open Day.

Filming and photography

Please note that filming and photography may take place at our Open Days. If you do not wish to be filmed, please let the film crew or photographers know on the day. Filming and photography is for UWE Bristol marketing purposes only.
