During your time in Bristol you will attend various academic sessions to help improve your English, your presentation skills and your writing. You’ll also learn about British culture and what it’s like to study at a UK university.
As well as studying, you will explore the UK with day trips to Oxford, Bath, Gloucester Cathedral and London.
Sessions may include:
- A tour of UWE Bristol’s academic facilities, Centre for Sport etc
- Cultural sessions – adjusting to the UK and an introduction to UK culture
- Professional Skills – presentation skills and academic writing.
We will also have a welcome and farewell lunch for all Summer School students when you can get to know and bid farewell to Bristol, new friends and lecturers.
All students will receive a UWE Bristol certificate of attendance at the end of the course.
You will receive between ten and 14 hours of classes per week. The focus is on improving language skills whilst offering an exciting and enjoyable experience in the UK.
All our tutors are native speakers and are highly qualified and experienced lecturers in English as a foreign language. They understand the students' needs, whether they wish to prepare for university study or simply wish to improve their English and have fun.
Classes are relaxed and friendly, and generally tutor-led. Many of the tasks set will be done in pairs or groups, enabling you to practise your English and to get to know the other group members better.
English language requirements
The Summer School is for students with an intermediate level of English (IELTS 5.0 and above or equivalent).
